Salesforce Execution Manager

Confluence Corporation is hiring an Execution Manager to lead our rapidly growing Salesforce practice. This position is responsible for service delivery, resource management, client satisfaction, partner relationships, and overall quality service delivery with repeatable processes. This is an executive position that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring client satisfaction
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and budget
  • Personnel management of key members of the Salesforce team
  • Regular reviews with project managers
  • Participating in Salesforce events / partner events
  • Establishing processes and procedures that promote high quality services
  • Contributing to internal process improvements, project execution methodologies and internal staff training

Successful candidates will enjoy creating standards, have excellent verbal and written skills, demonstrate initiative and ambition, ability to work independently, multi-task and able to manage time well. This position is located in Washington, DC and relocation assistance is available if relocating within the District of Columbia.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience managing (profit and loss responsibility) portfolio(s) of technology projects
  • Experience managing staff – hiring, performance / salary reviews
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical field
  • Customer service orientation and good inter-personal needs; ability to get people to sign on to your agenda
  • Experience providing business consulting

Desired:

  • Salesforce certification(s) / overall understanding of capabilities of product
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with Capability Maturity Model / ISO certification or similar methodology

Drupal Developer (Washington, DC or Los Angeles, CA)

Confluence has an immediate opening for a talented Drupal developer in Washington DC or downtown Los Angeles, who thrives working on a wide variety of interesting projects. Confluence’s client base consists of nonprofit organizations with missions from helping the homeless, advocating for a clean environment, international development, literacy, eliminating homelessness and many other areas.

This position is perfect for someone who likes to solve problems in Drupal, working with open source solutions, hosting / server environments, front-end developers and clients. In your role as a Drupal developer, you will primarily focus on implementing websites in Drupal, using configuration whenever possible. An ideal candidate would also be comfortable with JQuery, JavaScipt and working with APIs and Apex programming for Salesforce integrations AND/OR with implementing custom style sheets or doing CSS work as needed in Drupal. Other areas of work could include: troubleshooting or tuning MySQL databases, cleaning infected sites, or improving standards for customer deployments.

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on, substantive work with Linux, MySQL, Apache and PHP
  • 4 year college degree, preferred in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Expert PHP programming skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with Drupal
  • Experience with jQuery, JavaScript and XML
  • Ability to design, implement, tune, troubleshoot and maintain MySQL databases
  • Experience with Bootstrap, Symphony, and / or other frameworks
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments and migrating websites
  • Designing and implementing functional website components in an open source CMS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort working directly with clients
  • Ability to thrive whether working within a team or independently
  • Working with front-end developers, create web interfaces, widgets, rich clients and other front-end components (HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • Optimize pages for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility

Salesforce Expert

Job Description

Confluence has an excellent position in our rapidly growing Salesforce for Nonprofits practice. This is a hands-on position, implementing the Salesforce NonProfit Success Pack and related systems for our large and growing portfolio of nonprofits, associations and foundations. Do you have an excellent understanding of relational databases and normalized database design and development? Do you have deep analysis and problem solving skills? Have you gotten deep into Salesforce and loved it?

The successful candidate will be involved in many Salesforce implementations – starting from defining requirements through customization, configuration and other related tasks, including data mapping and migration / import, App selection from the Salesforce AppExchange and external application integration. The right person is expected to have a technical background and some experience in database design and implementation, and working familiarity with basics of software development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for the development and deployment of Salesforce, and/or enhancements to existing Salesforce implementations.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality, timely, and thorough solutions to customer problems.
  • Determine the scope and corresponding effort estimates for all development.
  • Support Practice Manager in business development activities

Required

  • Demonstrated expertise in the Salesforce platform
  • Background in database design and development

Project Manager

Confluence has an opening for a project manager. Candidates should be experienced in managing software, web design and implementation and other related projects and providing leadership and relationship management to a variety of clients.

Job Description

The project manager is responsible for managing a wide variety of types of projects from quick web updates to multi-person, year-long development projects. Projects include end-to-end website design and implementation, requirements documentation – through-deployment of novel, custom web-based programs, website audits and assessments, and the evaluation and selection of software products to meet client needs. The project manager is backed up by the web team’s technical or creative lead or database team’s technical lead, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience as a project manager or team lead on software and web projects.

Required Skills/Experience:

3+ years professional experience in leading software / web projects with demonstrated experience in:

  • Managing teams working with a variety of technologies, from graphic design through and including open source development
  • Managing requirements / scope, timeline / schedule, deliverables, expectations, budget and other aspects of projects
  • Testing / reviewing work products against implementations and requirements in advance of client review
  • Managing and exceeding client expectations
  • Reviewing and communicating functional requirements for software and database development projects
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications
  • Strong leadership and task management skills with an excellent ability to prioritize and multi-task

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with software development life cycles and project management methodologies
  • Nonprofit experience is not required, but is helpful
  • Basic technical understanding of how Content Management Systems work and what the difference is between HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.
  • Background or aptitude to research and evaluate vendor product offerings against client business needs

  • Resides in the DC-metro area and willing and able to work at our offices in Dupont Circle
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Is a self-starter and works equally well independently or in collaboration with others
  • Is able to juggle multiple tasks of high importance at the same time
